Default check engine light..dammit!

One thing I hate about mods is the check ingine light turning on. 2 weeks after I installed a test pipe. Can this be erased by the dealer and will it stay off?

get a scan tool from Harbor Freight or ebay for $30 and clear the code yourself, and you'll have it to clear codes in the future.

i used one anti fouler on the O2 sensor and still get codes then i put two on and haven't gotten code for over 2k miles.

Actually, I thought the CEL fix didn't work on the 06+ cars.

search for "obd2 code" or "obd2 scan"
since you have a newer car, you should get one that support CAN.
if you want to spend extra, get one that show live data.

i have the Innovate OT-1, so i can use Logworks3 to do data logging along with reading and clearing codes.

Not for 30. That one will not read CAN that is required by the 06. All 06+ need a higher $ scan tool.

you're right, all 06+ require CAN.

if you have a laptop, you can get a CAN compliant one for $25 shipped

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBD2-ELM327...emZ180280109325

if you want a hand held one. you can bid on this one that starts at $30. i'm sure you'll win the auction at $30 since there are so many out there and no one is bidding on them. or you can find one that has buy now for $40 + shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/OBD-II-OBD2-CAN-BUS-Di...id=p3286.c0.m14

either way, you can get one that's fairly cheap. it's good to have if you plan to do future mods. i personally like the ones that show live data, or even log data.
