Default Cleanest install of defi gauges

Hi All,

I picked up a set of 3 x individual "racer" gauges (racer gauges are standalone, dont require a control unit and thus have no logging) for the S2000.

I would like to find out the cleanest and simplest way of wiring up these gauges. I like the method of using fuse taps EXAMPLE

Now as I have to install three gauges, can I wire the same wire of the same type from all three gauges to each fuse for +12, ign, ground etc?

Or would it be overload?

Alternatively, any other opinions of how I should wire the gauges are welcomed!

Cheers,
ALex

What gauges? I doubt we can help without knowing. What amps do they draw ?-- should be on the spec sheet.

I dont have the manual on me... but lets just assume I do the correct thing and matchthe amperage required for the gauge to the right fuse etc... what I am conerned about is the "setup" IE fuse tap connected to 3 power wires (or same type) since I have three gauges.... the fuse tap will have two provisions for me to install existing existing fuse, plus additional fuse since i am running extra power sources..

Is there a brand name or model number on the gauges? Google is your friend once you know what gauges you have.

Cant comment on the question but I looked up the specs for OP

Current consumption
+B line: MAX 120mA (Dark current 0mA)
IGN line: MAX 120mA
ILM line: MAX 2mA

That's not a lot of current you could run one 16 or 18ga wire for power and then split it at the gauges. I'd suggest running a 5 amp in line fuse too.

Many thanks for looking that up.

So vertigo what I do is with the fuse tap, plug it into correct fuse to tap for +12v/ill etc . On the wire part add 18gauge wire and then all three individual gauges tap off that one line? As the fuse tap has provisions to put existing fuse there, by your post I should also add a 5amp fuse in the second slot to cater for the three gauges?
