Clunk in rear after being parked overnight
When I back the s2k out of the garage after being parked overnight, it makes a rather loud clunking sound from the rear of the car just as the wheels start to move. The sound is gone as soon as the wheels have made 1 rotation and then the car drives fine. This just started in the last few days
The dealer says it is probably a sticking brake pad, but he admits that he has little experience with s2ks. I had the diff fluid changed at 15k miles and now have 27k.
Appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share.

Did you use the parking break? If you have moisture on the rotors when you parked it and you releae the parking break as you are moving the rear pads will release with a "POP" Rust will form on the rotors and break free - this happens to me if my rotors are wet when I park the car!

This board is awesome. Was searching for threads on rear spoilers and somehow search brought this thread up. Oddly enough, I have had the same thing happen. The water and the parking brake makes perfect sense. Just noticed it a couple weeks ago when we started get alot of wet weather. Today was the first day I have seen the sun in weeks.

Happens to me too when I wash my car and then park it overnight with the parking brake on. Or if I had been driving in the rain and park it overnight. Dealer didn'tt have a clue about what it might be. Common denominator seems to be parking brake on after brakes were wet. It's definitely not the gearbox. Hope this helps.

That's how my differential started, before it got to the clicking where it's at now. Now it clicks starting in reverse, starting in first, cornors sometimes at slow speeds, 1-2 shift.
And the dealerships act like their deaf.
