"Clunking Sound" when going into 1st gear

I have also kept the clutch in and shifted into first and there is still the clunking sound. I would rather have the clunking sound then have to replace my throw out bearing prematurely due to me always having the clutch engaged. I guess this is a normal sound that I have to get used to. Thanks all!!

I have the same and have read many posts that this is just the norm for this vehicle.

Try holding the clutch down for a couple seconds before you shift into 1st gear. Most manual cars I've driven have the 1st gear clunk but if you hold the clutch down for a couple seconds before hand, it's gone.
