Default clutch concern

hey guys, i bought my 2000 s2k with a ACT 6 puck clutch kit already installed and simply have no need for it as just daily drive the car.

my question is--is the ACT pressure plate compatible with an OE standard clutch disc? or would i need to replace the entire clutch? the current setup only has about 8000 miles on it so I was hoping that it would be fine just to replace the disc. the aggressive response from the 6 puck just isn't practical for my driving situation. any insight would be great as unfortunately my local mechanic wasn't sure himself. thanks!

Not sure if ACT makes more than one type of pressure plate...but a popular mod is to use an ACT pressure plate with an oem friction disk.

According to the ACT website they use only 1 type of PP for the S2000 and that is the HD plate.
You get it with every kit they offer.
If you still have a OEM (type > like the Comptech lightend) flywheel then the OEM disk will fit 100% with this combo.
With another flywheel its a guess.. I guess.

Perfect, thanks a ton for the advice. I do have a lightweight flywheel installed so I guess it'll be a matter of guess and check, no big deal. Good to know though

u can just buy a ACT street friction plate with the HD PP u have right now. It drive like a OE plate but better response. And it is a good combo. Or you can go with clutch master stage 1 or 2 clutch kit, but I dont know how reliable with clutch master.
