Clutch dragging?
Some odd behavior, just checking to see if anyone else's S acts this way:
1. Coming to a stop, clutch is pushed to the floor, tranny is in neutral, clutch is engaged. Engine RPM's drop to 800 or so as the car comes to a complete stop. Engine stumbles a bit. Nothing to put it in danger of stalling, but there's a roughness to the idle for a brief moment then it settles.
2. Going down the parking lot looking for a good spot, I finally find a wide space. An SUV going the WRONG way down the aisle spots it too and races up and cuts me off. Since I panic braked, I did manage to put the car into neutral with the clutch still down on the floor. When I shifted back into 1st, the car grinded really bad, as if I didn't have the clutch down at all. But my leg was still extended and my foot had the pedal *almost* but not quite to the floor. Shoving the pedal all the way down let me put it into gear.
How much play is there supposed to be before the clutch starts to grab, and are these problems just me or a clutch needing adjustment?

1. its very normal. lots of s2k's have this problem. i notice that it only happens when there is a big ambient temparature change. it looks like the map sensor is trying to adjust to the new settings. it probably happens to me once a month or something like that. i read somewhere that people recommend tapping the map sensor a couple of times or resetting the ecu. i have never done it since its not a big problem for me and happens rarely.
2. sounds like you a clutch pedal adjustment. how many miles do you have?
