Default clutch engagement

while mine is a 2002, I have a friend with a 2005 and upon driving it is very apparent that the clutch has an extremely late engagement. mentioning this to the dealer, they said there is nothing they can do to adjust this. I don't think this is the case, but what specifically can be done to adjust the throw on the clutch? I want to have my buddy tell the dealer exactly what to do, I'm just not sure what to say.

do u mean that the clutch does not grip right away when u ship them? if thats what u meant, then i had the same issue. I think that all s2k are the same. I also felt that the clutch pedal has to be push in more than half way before you can even power shift the car. I used to have an integra, my integra just need a small tap on the clutch and you can power shift them easily. My s2k is kinda hard, i guess because its still fairly new. Id few more miles and see..Good luck

no, what i mean is on his car you have to let the clutch pedal out really far for it to engage. it's a new car, so the clutch is not worn. can it be adjusted so it engages earlier in the pedal release?

He means it delays engagement. Its a new part they put in to do this. Someone will link you to the thread on how to removed it. Its a Delay Valve.

The 2004+ models have a clutch delay valve, similar to what BMW installed on several recent models. This is a one-way valve that slows down clutch engagement. A search will reveal a thread with instructions on how to remove it. I think it's highly unlikely that the dealer would perform this service.

This is not a clutch adjustment issue. The late engagement on the 2004+ models is due to the clutch slave cylinder. You can replace it with a clutch slave cylinder from a 2000 - 2003 for about 60 bucks. Hope this helps.
