Treated my S to some new clutch fluid today, verified no more grinding to 2nd gear from high RPMs (also verified that doing that in Pep Boys parking lot distracts their workers). Also picked up new 10A fuses and my radio and 12v outlet work again, yay.

Thanks billman and everyone else that convinced me to do this!

So why in the $%^& isn't this in Honduh's regular service manual?

I changed the fluid on mine today. The fluid was very low, and it was mainly a dark sludge near the bottom of the reservoir. I pumped it all out, wiped it clean, filled it up with clean fluid, then took it for a drive. After driving around the block, the fluid I had just put in was now *brown*. I pumped that back out and put clean fluid back in. It's obviously not 100% clean with this method, but it's vastly improved over what it was. I'm definitely putting this on my routine maintenance with this car.

Just wrapped up doing this. The clutch wasn't acting up, but the fluid was filthy. Glad to get some reassurance that doing this the lazy way without the bleed still gives you most of the benefit. Went ahead and filled, pumped the pedal, and changed. Look to change again after a short drive (might as well use the open bottle), then I will use the rest to change out some of the brake reservoir. Thanks!
