Default Clutch install HELP!

So today i embarked on the journey that is the installation of my clutch. problem is i am stuck in the step where i remove the upper starter bolt, i've read that it is highly likely to damage the knock sensor whilst removing the upper starter bolt. this being said i began looking for the knock sensor itself, i see that it is directly under the air intake log in between the 2nd and 3rd arm. are there any tips or recommendations on how to go about removing the knock sensor? i cant fit my hand inbetween all the intricate tubing and cables under the intake log? any help at all would be greatly appreciated,

I done about 3-4 clutch installs on S2000s and i never remove the knock sensor, Just get a long extension maybe 3ft. just put a few together and tape them so they dont come a part. Then you should be able to reach the bolt sliding the extension in from the front of the engine. Move the alternator out of the way this will help give you some room! It can be a pain. Then get a light and look down between the Intake mani to line it up on the bolt. A bit easier if you have someone to help you.

Yeah I guess this will be the only option left, since the knock sensor is barely even visible. I went under the car and i can't even see it from underneath. I hope all goes smooth and I don't end up having to buy another.

I've replaced some 15-20 S2000 clutches and NEVER have removed the knock sensor, nor have I ever broken one in the process. I usually pull the tensioner off and the alternator out of the way to get at the top starter bolt with a standard deep 14mm socket, a swivel wrapped with tape to limit movement and a good 2-2.5 foot long extension. My hands are small enough that upon reinstallation I just push it back in there by hand to get it started and then tighten it back down.
