Default Clutch issues

I have an Exedy Hyper clutch kit and last night it began slipping. It works fine below vtec, but when i hit 6k it just revs up to nine and goes nowhere. Then I can let off the accelerater and press it back and it works fine. What could be my problem here? Think I need to replace the disc in the clutch?

Are you riding your clutch?

might have a. glazed it, b. if u installed it yourself and overgreased the splines grease might have gotten on the disc, c. check the release fork movment to make sure u get full movement also

I'm not riding the clutch at all, it has been in for about 20k miles so grease shouldn't be an issue. I haven't done any abrupt takeoffs or slips so i shouldn't have glazed it either.

As you are taking off normally and lifting up on the clutch, where does it begin to catch (IE, where is the friction point)??? It also seems as though your clutch is NOT completely engaging. A glazed clutch will also mimic this condition.

The friction point is pretty close to the top of the travel, also is making a somewhat loud squeeking noise under the car when I depress the clutch with the engine off.

Your clutch is NOT working right for sure. It is unable to fully ENGAGE. IE, it can't fully clamp down (nearly slipping most of the time). A thorough inspection of everything from the master cylinder right to the clutch assembly itself may be in order.

I am going to carry it up to a shop this afternoon if it doesn't rain to hard. I have been thinking it may be something other than the clutch b/c it will catch and hold if I let off the accelerator and depress it back.
