Default clutch issues unsure.

hi everyone i need some help. i think my clutch is slipping, im unsure really. driving normal @the speed limit it feels fine. but last night and today after i went in to vtec in first gear, shift to second and it just kept revving and backfiring from the exhaust. it didnt pull in second basically was standing still. same thing in 3rd it didnt move just kept on revving until it red line. my speed was still moving up, but not like it normally would. do you think its the clutch or could it be something else? i have and 05 ap2 stock.

Have you removed the clutch delay valve? Is your clutch mater cylinder leaking?

Well with the Cdv still and shifting to fast you probably didn't give the clutch enought time to catch. Also if you want to check if you clutch is slipping go on the highway in 4th gear at like 60 and floor it, if it slips then its the clutch

thanks i will try the highway tomorrow. but i don't shift fast cause of that cvd. i basically granny shift it so it has time to catch. but i got into vtec in 2nd from a roll and it still was just revving there, there was no jerk or chirp nothing. but if it is the clutch should i just stay OEM tho?

mine started slipping a couple weeks ago in the same circumstances, turned out the clearance on the clutch rod had closed up and was putting pressure on the release bearing, as soon as VTEC engaged the spike in power would cause slipping. Easy check is to go under dash and make sure you have some freeplay at the clutch rod, move the clutch pedal by hand and make sure there is some freeplay and it isn't tight before the clutch rod hits the plunger in the MC. IF it is tight, loosen the 12mmm nut and shorten the clutch rod to induce some freeplay. My slipping stopped as soon as I got some freeplay back in the clutch pedal.
