Clutch master problem?
Hey all, I have another new problem that is getting old quick.
My clutch pedal stiffened up the other day while I was driving and now the last inch and a half or so before the pedal hits the floor takes a LOT of muscle to get down. I realize that I never push it all the way to the floor, but I should atleast be able to if I want to.
I can still shift and drive, but I can't EVER shift into 2nd on redline. I tried it multiple times in a row and it just won't lock in. It also doesn't lock into 3rd on redline sometimes.
At this point I'm sure my synchros need replacing, but is the pedal a clutch master/slave issue? Where do I buy new synchros? Is omni a good solution for a master cylinder?
I don't use an OE clutch, I use the ACT stage 4 6 puck on a comptech flywheel.
It's an 01 ap1
LMK if you have any info.
Thanks,
Jason

I would check everything between the pedal and the transmission:
Pedal - master - fluid - lines - slave - rubber boot - release vork.
The slave-boot-vork you can do by crawling under the car (on jack stands)
and have someone else press the clutch pedal.
If its not there it would take serious work.
Removing the transmission IMO.
You say you need extra muscle, but it does go all the way?
(Maybe that rubber boot got torn? and a piece got stuck between clutch housing and release vork - just guessing though)
Let us know what you find.

It WILL go all the way to the floor. I forgot to add that when I'm decelerating at a low speed I can push the clutch in and it won't come out of gear until I'm nearly at a complete stop.
Sounds expensive....Thanks for the info!
