Default Clutch mix and match

Alright so, I have a question. Installed a CC stage 2 and fidanza lightweight flywheel a couple months back. It ran ok, but within the last week it has completely died. Took off the tranny and everything seems to be in order but the clutch is completly fried.. only about 5-10K on the new clutch. The car is only driven on the steet and it not abused at all.

I now obviously need a new clutch but it doesn't seem like CC sells the disk by itself. I emailed one of their distributors about it and am waiting for a reply. But, does anyone know if it would be ok to replace the CC disc with an ACT or another brand clutch disc and run it with the CC pressure plate? Don't really want to spend another $500+ on a whole new kit if I just need a new disk?

any thoughts?

people have put ACT disks in with OEM pressure plates or vice versa. So I'm sure it can be done.

The thing you have to go after, though, is WHY did you fry a disc that quickly?

Is the pressure plate not clamping it down all the way? Is adjustment bolt on the pedal off? User error? Find out WHY it happened before you fix it.

If you can't find any issues, then you can say it was a faulty disc. But it would suck to throw another disc in there and have it happen again 5k miles later.

It appears to me that a small issue with the hydraulics or linkage easily causes problems on this unit. My clutch slipped when the car was brand new as did a replacement installed by the dealer. I decided to do it myself and carefully installed my current setup making sure all components mated properly and have had no problems since.

I have a Toda FW, a Clutch Masters PP, and an OEM FD. No problems in the last 30K miles.
