I've had my '02 for about 3 weeks noise, and I've had this noise since I bought it.

After shifting, when I let the clutch out, I can hear a faint kind of grinding voise towards the end of releasing it. Like, I said, it's been doing this since I bought the car so I'm not sure wether it's just normal or I need to be concerned. Does anyone else get this noise?

 

Sounds like our throw-out bearing is getting ready to go.

 

my s2k does the same thing I bought it 2 weeks and I have been tripping about it too, from everything I have been reading on this forum its sounds like its normal

 

I also get a growl/grind/groan (don't really know how the hell to describe it) just as the powertrain loads up. This only seems to be when the clutch first hooks up and once I am back on the gas and accelerating with a solid load on the driveline it is gone. I have accepted it as part of this cars "personality" and won't worry about it until something actually breaks.
