Default Clutch pedal vibration

I recently bought a 2002 S2000 with 120k miles. The car has been meticulously maintained, and all service records were included with the purchase. The car runs and drives amazingly, but I have noticed a slight vibration in the clutch pedal while shifting as I ease off of the clutch and apply throttle. If I rev the engine with the pedal depressed, I can feel the vibration as well. It is faint for the most part but noticeable. The car has not had a clutch replacement yet, but it doesn't slip with aggressive shifting. Could it still be an issue with the clutch disc, springs, or the throwout bearing? Maybe the motor mounts?

Sounds like a throw-out bearing issue.

I went through this recently. I know Billman will be along shortly and say that it's the engine thrust bearings going bad but I think that's unlikely unless you have really high miles or poor previous maintenance. I replaced everything in a typical clutch change. Clutch , flywheel, PP, bearings. It still did it. When I had the trans out I was playing with the clutch fork and found the pivot was making that exact same feeling. I'm 99% sure mine is the the clutch fork but I didn't have time to replace that after I found it. I would say your issue is either the TOB or the clutch fork.

I don't think Billman would jump to thrust bearing unless there was something that lead him there, similar to what your saying and what I would think. My guess is that it is clutch related. I did here that sometimes it is difficult to ever get a clutch/flywheel perfectly balanced like it is from the factory. I don't think I would worry much unless it gets too noticeable.

Could be a handful of things. Billman doesn't just jump to conclusions, he already knows from experience 99.9% of the time what is causing a noise or vibration, so take what he says to heart..

Likely causes would be:
-Throw out bearing
-Throw out bearing guide sleeve
-Thrust bearings

That is...if its not a normal amount of vibration.

I guess it could also be related to the clutch disk or pressure plate fingers.

Thanks for all of the advice! I'm going to do a clutch replacement and hope that gets rid of it. Like I said, it is very faint, and most probably wouldn't notice it. It's only noticeable when applying throttle.
