Clutch Problems
Hello,I am new to this forum so I hope this is the right place for this post.I have a black 20001 w/112k.14 months ago I had a oem clutch, flywheel,& reservoir installed. The clutch functioned properly w/lots of chatter for about 11months.Then I noticed it was hard to get into reverse. Then the 2nd to 3rd shift started acting up.My girlfriend was driving not long after this and tried to down shift going up a steep incline & could not get it into any gear.So I took it back to the mechanic that performed the work and he replaced it free of charge.4months ago.Well it started shuddering yesterday so I checked everything. When I went to bleed the system it would not drain by loosening the valve on the slave cylinder. Then I got in the car and pumped the clutch and it spewed one time I filled the reservoir and tried it again w/no flow???

This is normal. You need to depress the pedal to get the fluid to flow. Sounds like you need to fully bleed the system of air. The flow per each depression of the pedal may increase, as you bleed the line.
Good luck!

Sounds like you have a hydraulic system leak....or your clutch freeplay was not properly set....or your clutch is failing.
You say it functioned "NORMALLY" with chatter? They normally don't chatter.
What type of clutch did your mechanic replace it with?
Did he resurface the flywheel? Or did you buy a new one?
What was your parts list for the replacement?

Oem clutch kit from Honda and new flywheel.I had a mechanic friend come by & help me bleed the systlem.Once we bled it the 2nd time I let the clutch out and went through every gear with no hang ups even to reverse. We did the bleed one more time and he said nothing but straight fluid came out.Let the jack&jack stands down started it up & let it run for 4/5mins.Then I go to pull out and trans will not go into gear. Finally got trans into 2nd went to pull out & it sounded like something was loose & rattling
The shudder sounds like a flywheel with hot spots. Sounds like you might need a new flywheel, as the old one may not be able to be resurfaced to remove these. It would mean doing the clutch labor all over again. Mechanic should have been able to see flywheel wasn't servicable.
The trouble engaging gears is sounds like hydraulics. You said the resevoir was replaced. You mean the Master Cylinder too, right? If not, maybe its bad. You never mentioned slave cylinder. Maybe it needs to be replaced.
There are also two clutch pedal adjustments that may be involved. Both very easy. One is clutch rod play. Lots of diy info, do a search.
The other adjusts how far the clutch pedal can travel. Its a little more difficult, but still easy. Again, look for diy. It involves adjustimg the upper pedal stop (which also contains a switch to detect pedal movement).

If you mean does the hydraulics hold the clutch down --- try this: Put car into first or reverse. Hold the clutch pedal down, at idle. If after awhile, the car starts to move, you prolly have some hydraulic seal(s) issues. If there is no problems after a minute or so --- the hydraulics are prolly not leaking past the seals.
