Default Clutch Release Fork Free Motion

Hello guys,
recently i was doing this: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/370...-clutch-pedal/
and i found out that the clutch release fork has a big free movement. It moves in direction that it is supposed to move like 1 - 1,5cm (left-right, in the line that slave cilinder pushes) (Without pushing on clutch - that starts right after free movement) and moves like 3-5mm up and down. Is this normal?

I have a rattle in when i drive that come somewhere from the spot where is the release fork. You can hear it when you drive straight and when you turn to left it is amplified and when you turn to right it stops. Can it be caused by the fork?
Thanks.

this is the rattle noise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlA5...PvOZ91vk41853w

There is a thin metal clip that holds your release fork in place. It sounds like this clip is broken inside of your trans causing your fork to have the up/down free movement that you mention. The sound is likely the fork's pivot point bouncing around inside the mount (item 5 below) because the clip (item 6 below) is no longer holding it in place.

Thanks very much for the reply. Is it possible to change it without putting the transmission out from the car?
As i can see on this video it is but also it is plausible that he has got something dissassembled before so he can take it out easily.

No, you'll have to drop the transmission out of the car in order to change the fork or the mount.

When you had the slave cylinder off and were jiggling around the release fork... were you able to pull it out of the locking tab and free it from its mount? If you could still pull it out and push it back into the locking tab on the mount then the clip I was talking about might not be broken. It may just be the issue observed in the video you posted. So you may just need a new fork. Either way you have to drop the trans to swap it, and the clip that I was talking about is only like $3 to replace so might as well while you're in there.

How many miles does your car have and have you ever replaced the clutch in it before? If not, you may want to consider replacing some of the key clutch items while you're in there. Dropping the trans is no small task, especially your first time. I'd consider replacing the friction disc at a minimum.

Here's the clutch release and clutch components from Majestic Honda. These are for an AP1.

My car have 160 000km (less than 100 000 miles i believe) on it. I bought it when it had 148 000km and the owner before me changed friction disk and pressure disk when it had about 135-140 000 i believe. It was in april 2013 or so. He didnt changed the clutch release bearing tho.

Should i change the bearing when i will change the release fork? Or is it better to change the whole set?

Yes, check the guide as well for wear, any wear, change it.

Yeah, I'd replace items 1, 3, 4, and 6. That's the guide, bearing, fork, and clip. Might not need the clip if its not broken, and might not need the guide if its not scored up, but might as well since they are cheap and you'll be in there anyways.
