Default Clutch set for for 400HP

So.

I’d like to have stock feeling but pushing about 400HP. So what is the best approach here.

I was thinking ACT pressure plate, and stock fly wheel and friction disc. Has anyone done this before? If so is this safe? Thanks for the info.

Yup. Sounds like a plan. Clutch interlock bypass maybe nice.

Loads of people run the ACT/OEM combo.
It's almost perfect, only has one little downside which is the increased thrust bearing wear due to the increased clamping load.
I believe it's also a bit heavier over stock, so not exactly the stock feeling.
There is probably some other clutch out there which doesn't have that problem either, but I'm not sure which one it is.

SoS Sport 325 and 400 would be the ones. Regardless, clutch interlock bypass is still recommended to alleviate wear on that thrust washer. AFAIK the ACT HD-021 PP has been revised after some initial thrust washer failures and supposedly no longer has that issue, but I wouldn't chance it and still do the bypass (I did).

I'd say the OEM/ACT setup is MARGINALLY increased pedal effort over stock. Personally, I did not notice a difference whatsoever. I spent a few days doing the clutch install myself, and when I manipulated the clutch pedal after the job was complete nothing stuck out to me that the effort was increased; the only real way to judge it is a side-by-side comparison. Also, if you wanna get really fancy, you can always get the J's slave cylinder which has an increased bore area to offset the difference in effort. I did this after the fact, so my clutch pedal at this point is probably the same as OEM in terms of feel and effort required.

I helped a buddy install an SoS Sport 400 clutch in his AP2 back in the fall, and that thing is SOFT. We bled it multiple times thinking there was an issue, but it's just a very light clutch. Personally, I liked it. Can't go wrong with the SoS clutches or ACT/OEM.
