Thanks, buddy. Yes that's exactly what I received. The individual coils are labeled NGK U5099.

I'm a bit confused. Do you have a 2004 model? The OP has a 2003 model.

Or are you saying that your NGK 2004 coils are fitting on your 2003 car?

Thanks!

I have an 01. 04/05 coils work in the AP1 and are half price of the AP1 coils. 06+ coils do NOT work in an AP1 though so you dont want those of course if you have an AP1.

Shouldn't coils that fit 2001 models fit 2003 models?

Because whatever the OP got didn't work.

Thanks!

may be a good time to make sure your plugs are torqued to 24LB-FT and have not backed out

Honda changed valve covers in 04 and then again in 06.

Same time they changed coilpack part numbers.

Maybe there are differences in valve cover heights with respect to the coil pack.

Maybe Denso's coils were more tolerant to that, whereas the NGK ones are not.

I have an 04 valve cover on my AP1 so could be. But I know others on S2ki are also running the 04/05 coil packs on an AP1 with no issues which is how I knew about it. But I cant speak to what valve cover they have.

But I can say if there are differences in the 04 valve cover, I certainly could not tell other than the PCV. But I was not looking for some very tiny differences I guess. Could be the issue?

Coils are exactly the same height, but as you can see, the plug doesn't sit as far down in the NGK coil. Maybe that's fine and as intended, and it's the valve cover that is the culprit here -- I've got the original '02 cover.
