Coilover install
I need some help, i just purchase a set of coiloverrs and i wanted to know how to do the preloading, is that compression the springs a certain amount of mm's withe one of the coilover perch?
What else needs to be preloaded when putting back the coilovers?
How to make sure all 2 rear and 2 front coilovers are exactly the same size, how to meaure them or where to measure them from?
How to know how much of a drop approximately before putting on the coilover. Can i measure the stock spring and shock assembled :top of pillow mount to the bottom bolt and then make the new coilover a bit shorter?

I've read that a couple of times, thank you though for responding. The preloading specs there are for german coilovers as he specifies, don't know if it makes a difference. He measures the amount dropped after the shocks are installed. I wanted to know if by measuring the stock shock and spring assembly i could do the same with the new coilovers but shorten them to predict the drop?
I guess to measure the preload i could fully loosen the perch under the spring to make sure the spring is not loaded and then starting turning the perch and loading the spring until it has been loaded the suggested mm's

They're D2's they're adjustable of course but i know they have a huge range for height adjustability, i just thought that by measureing both ol and new i could get an idea of how much of a drop i would get from stock.
I emailed D2 over in Australia, i'll post their info just for future references maybe along with a write up an dsome pics. I have one more questions How long should i let the springs settle before going and getting an aligment. If i take it to a good alignment shop should the guy understand if i tell him i little more "aggressive" aligment? Thanks
Basicly, pre-load is spring does not dompress but not moving at all. We call it 1G.
Then chose your ride height. I start form stock ride height and start dropping. After you choose a ride height, change the pre-load if you do not like. OR play with bump-rebump adjustment if you have.
Think, coilover is really fun to touch. With coilovers, you can change everything about ride! Most of people just buy a coilovers for dropping there car but it's not the only way to use the coilovers.

Sopreload is spring being compressed to its fullest by adjusting it's perch? I know about choosing the height but jacking the car up 10 times to get it straight doesn't sound too fun what i ask is if by measure the stock spring and shock then adjusting the coilover to be a bit shorter, i could figure out the amount of drop i could give it.

I need more help, how long do i have to let the coilovers settle til i go and have them aligned? Soemtimes having the same length coilover doesn't mean the drop will be the same, why is this? Thanks
Come on people give me a hand ehre. Don't wanna mess up my s2k. Now i understand i'm suppose to preload the springs on coilovers in order not to bottom them out and avoid noises and stuff. On this page from the manufacturer it clearly states not to preload the spring.

Also how long should i give the springs to settle before i take it for an aligment.
