cold start sound idk

Default cold start sound idk

ok so my cars been fine all summer but as its getting cold now ive noticed if I start the car early morning or later at night when its cold it makes a weird sound like a rattle but it only happens when cold like if the engines cold and its cold out side if engines warm doesn't do it or if its like mid day and im in Florida btw it doesn't do it any thoughts

Sticking starter. Very common. Nothing to worry about but it is an annoying sound! Mines been doing that for over 100k miles that I've owned it.

Is this comparable to what yours is doing? Mine's doing the same thing. I also live in a warmer area. (SC) Only when cold it rattles. Stops after like 20 seconds... I'm about to adjust the valves again...

yes its similar idk if exact same im going to adjust my valves next week waiting for a tool to come in but my sound last for less then second likes as soon as it starts then that's it goes right away even on my lunch brake I work nights when I start it at work it dose it but when I leave home to go back to work it dosent the engines cooled down to not read on the dash gauge but im sure it hasnt gotten completely cold in the hour

Yes. Its kind of a PITA to do though. 90% of us just put up with it; its not hurting anything.

my only thing is I want to fix it and make sure the sound stops to make sure its not something else like idk, I also don't know when the last time my tct was replaced and im at like 94k

If you want to replace the starter go for it. It doesn't cause any harm but it is annoying.

I've learned to let go a split second earlier to compensate for this.

I'm a tech for Honda and I'm just too damn lazy to change it out, LOL.

ive actually tried this the past two days and its seems to have worked so im a little relived by why would it only do it when its cold?
