Thanks, mas.

I'm better now, after a couple of ales, and knowing that I should get the car tomorrow.

It's especially difficult for me, because I'm missing so many meets. I've already missed a few, and there's a midnight run tomorrow night, but even if I get the car back, I won't have time to deal with the bra issue. I'd love to get video of a night run, though.

Friday is Buttonwillow, and Sunday is the SpugenQ Run, which looks like it might be huge. I'd really love to get video at both of those events, too.

The thing is if I take my S, I might get a lot of rock chips, since I don't have the bra, yet.

I know the paint job is doomed anyway, as the car is my daily driver, but I hope I can at least get some good pics, before it gets thrashed.

Looking good! What was the difference in price between the CF and OEM hood? Did they ever figure out who was responsible for the accident?

Pete,

Still planning to get some pictures of the bra attachments for you, just haven't had a chance yet. You may have a problem with the upper piece that covers the front 6" of the hood. It has straps that go under and hook to holes near the base of the OEM hood. Don't know if you're going to be able to find a way to hook that with your CF hood. Then again, I guess you could just leave off that portion of the bra, since it's CF (is the epoxy/resin prone to chipping?)

My car is at home!

The shop didn't give me the car until after dark, so I really couldn't see how good the touch-up job is. I didn't even try to look at the work. I'm pretty sure I saw a couple of white spots on the new top as I was getting in (that's the reason my other top was replaced), but hopefully everything will clean up when I detail it. I'll let you all know soon.

I will post pics and all the details ASAP.

Problems already!

I just went for a drive, and the new top is squeaking like all hell!!!

I never had this problem before, and I sure don't want to take it back to the shop for this. They don't even know how to work on the top. They told me that they sent the car to an upholstery shop for the new top installation.

I'm going to start searching here on how to fix it, and I'll look in the service manual. It sounds like it's coming from the area over the passenger visor. I'll take a look at it after the sun comes up.

I saw the TSB for replacing the strikers with hardtop strikers, but that is for '00 and '01 models. I hope I can figure out what they did wrong.

The convertible top noise is more like a loud clicking, every time I hit any small bump. I believe now that it is coming from part of the overhead framework of the top, which may not be so bad. Hopefully, I can isolate the noise, and apply grease, or tighten the framework, or whatever.

I checked out the paint job today, and it is very good , but I did find some small defects. Also, the top was replaced because the body shop got some white stuff on it that wouldn't come off, and DAMN IT they did it again!!! It's not as bad as before, and I haven't tried to get it off yet, so maybe it will be okay.

I'll post pics of everything. I'll try to get some pics of the car tomorrow. I'll also post pics of the original defects, and the pics of them fixed.
