You have to "make it fit", according to the directions that came with mine by cutting out the hood latch opening. The sensor you are talking about can be mounted on the cross bar right in front of the engine with a zip tie. Call or lookup comptec's website and IIRC they may have a online install guide.

Thanks, I relocated it elsewhere but, the instructions said to mount it upside down on the vacuum tank....the bracket on the air control solenoid valve doesn't fit in the spot they said to mount it in, do I drill a hole to mount....?

it does fit upside down on the vacuum tank but in the hardware kit there is supposed to be a washer that is about an inch long and you bolt the air control valve on the washer and then onto the tank and you're supposed to trim the plastic piece on the end of the hood prop to make it fit. I just took off the prop and bought hood dampers.

Thanks, But I didn't get the kit so that's why i am lacking the washer I would assume. I bought it second hand. Would you be able to tell me the size of the washer and the bolt so I can pick one up? thanks

I think the size of the bolt is 5 mm X 30 mm, but I have not installed it yet. I just secured mine with the zipties.

Here is the installation procedures from Comptech:
Step #3 Relocate the air control solenoid valve: The valve
(removed from the air box in step 1) will be mounted upside down
from its stock position to the vacuum tank. Using the provided spacer
and 5 mm washer bolt, attach the valve into the vacuum tanks cutout
and secure it to the brass nut molded into the plastic of the tank. Next
take the 5” section of vacuum hose provided in the kit and connect it
from the vacuum tank to the top of the air control solenoid valve. Next
take the 22" section of vacuum hose provided in the kit and connect
the lower vacuum port on the air control solenoid valve to the lower
vacuum tube, located under the fuel rail, that runs to the air control
valve. Using the 26” vacuum line connect the check valve to
the upper vacuum hard line. Note that the vacuum lines are
still in the same position as stock, but have been lengthened
to accommodate the new location of the air control solenoid
valve. Please refer to vacuum diagram for any vacuum routing
concerns. This is crucial to route the vacuum lines
per the diagram. If not you will get a Check Engine
Light. Use the included zip ties to secure the vacuum lines
to the wire loom along the frame rail & to the air line going
up towards the throttle body.

Hope this helps.
