Default compression test 180-269-270-268 what the heck?

What do you think about my compression numbers: 180-269-270-268 ??? The numbers are the same before and after the valve adjustment I did last night. The car definitely runs better now that the valves are within spec. Does anyone have any idea why the compression would be so high on the last 3 cylinders? I guess I need to do a leak down on cylinder 1. The car is a bone stock 2004 w/77k. Thanks!

I'd definitely say get the leakdown and figure out what exactly is causing compression loss.

what do you think about the numbers being so high? I read that 240 is on the high end of the spectrum.

Any over heating issues? Alot of the time when you see numbers like that you may have a blown head gasket

The car has never been overheated. I can't see any reason why the head gasket would be blown. No oil in the coolant, no external leaks.

Is the battery fully charged? Throttle WOT when testing? I'd suspect a faulty gauge. Never seen an OEM compression S2k run 270psi

I thought the gauge was faulty as well. I tested the gauge on 2 compressors and it is dead on. WOT and brand new battery. I really can't understand this.

Definitely do a blow-by test on #1. As for the other 3, have the cylinders been replaced? Has the head gasket been replaced? Something is causing the compression to be high, and it's stable across the last 3, so that rules out carbon buildup or misadjusted valves.

engine has never been touched. at least thats what the dude I bought it from told me. It really looks like it hasn't ever been touched also. I'm going to buy another tester tomorrow just to make sure it is ok.

I did a leak down test today and no leakage out of the last 3 cylinders. and it sounds like there is a leak in both intake and exhaust on #1.

when I adjusted the valves a couple nights ago, I noticed that the both intake and exhaust valves in #1 were way too tight. Could driving it this way have caused damage to the valves?

It could have possibly done some damage to the valves, but I wouldn't jump to conclusions.
