haha. That wouldn't surprise me. Put down compression numbers that look like what a normal car should be at not knowing The S is higher. That would really piss me off though because they charge up the ass for compression testing. Was going to have a dealership do it on my car before I bought it to make sure it was in good condition.

HAHAHA I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happened. I kept trying to watch what they were doing. I didn't see them test it. I probably paid like $200 for some tech to go on a 20 min joy ride, then make us some crap about compression numbers.... they did however point out that the car was lowered.

Yep, if they could tell it was lowered just by looking at it, they probably figured they could tell the compression by just listening to it.

Decades ago I had an Audi that was very hard to start on rainy or humid days, or with a hot engine. I took it to the dealer and they did a compression test. It came back with 90-95 psi in all four cylinders. They were consistent, but the compression was so low that it made it hard to start. On dry, cold days it would start right up and ran great. I didn't do a leakdown test, but I highly suspected that the valves were shot.

Same with old lawn mowers or weed whackers - if the compression is low, it's much harder to start with a warm engine and/or on humid days.
