Comptech Aftercooler Info
I received a call from Shad at Comptech yesterday regarding two issues I had with my new Header. I was having a small exhaust leak because the stock Doughnut wasnt sealing properly to the Cat. Anyways, we were talking about Comptech products and I asked him how they were coming along with the new aftercooler. He told me that they have one complete and done, and running in a test car. The current design is an air/water setup and the pressure drop is about .5 psi, not bad. He told me that it's good for an extra 15-20 rwhp on the stock pulley. He also told me that it is overengineered an will allow for an 8lb pulley which will push the kit up around the 320 rwhp easily. He also told me that they are using a 10lb pulley with it right now and it's putting down 340 to the wheels safely. He said they need to work with it more to simplify the install but it should be ready for sale in April. He told me that it will more than likely be in the 1000-1500 dollar range.
Well, just wanted to pass along what I was told...
BTW, also wanted to tell you that the new Comptech header is definately worth it's money. This is my 3rd header and I REALLY like this one. It's really nice below Vtec and then screams past 7 up to redline.
