Hey guys, just wanted to share some pics of my new mugen cai. Install is pretty straight forward except for the hood cutting. After about 3 hours and 30 dremmel bits.....no lie. Also, the underneath of my hood is totally different from the oem so there was a lot of eye balling and measuring to be done. Needless to say, turned out really nice thanks to vtecxturbo for his help. Haveing had the AEM cai previously, the mugen pulls a lot, lot harder in all gears. Ok, maybe I'm exagerating, but I can really feel the difference. Also, it sound a lot better in my opinion. Finally breathing mugen all the way with cai, header, exhaust. To me, well worth the $$, but I know thats relative.
Tell me more about the sound...I never liked the sound of the AEM...a little "immature" for my taste. I am sure the Mugen sounds much more refined than the raspy AEM, but is the Mugen as loud? Louder than stock is okay, but "AEM loud" is not. How do the two compare?
One more thing: Don't forget to post your pics in the Mugenized thread:
Congratulations, Stu! That's a cool pic of the CAI through the hood vent.
I've heard both intakes (I own the Mugen), and the AEM is a LOT louder than the Mugen. I personally liked the sound of the AEM (raunchier, louder), but I also have the J's N1 exhaust, so I obviously like loud. The Mugen is better for those that desire a more 'mature' sound.
