You still have to trim the plastic tab on '00s.

Not true. Like I said in my post above, I had to trim the box as well for proper fitment in my 00. I agree that we shouldn't have to mess with it, though. I can understand having a problem when they first hit the market, but there's no excuse for them to keep making them that way, especially when it's such an easy fix.

I didn't either, so I trimmed the tab. It fit OK without needing to trim the box.

I guess I misunderstood your comment. I thought you were saying that it was a drop-in / no-modifications-required unit, which it is not for an 00.

I had the same problem getting mine to line up so what I did was turn that front mount around to the original position and I pushed like a mofo ... I also used the original screws from the original air box. You have to twist the shit out of em to get em to go in but since they have that washer on em they hold the box down pretty snug. I'm going to trim my cover sometime this week .. I hate the dremmel tool. I always seem to cut too much with it .. I need more practice

And to answer do I like the CAI ... I love it.. It gives the car a nice deep sound but not obnoxious to the point where it gives you a headache ...

Not much difference at all. Im so used to the sound of it that it is like stock for me. I dont remember how my stock setup sounds anymore.

I disagree with that. I think you can run the gears higher than stock. It could just be my imagination ... It definitely increases performance.
