Default Comptech CAI

I had my Comptech intake installed a couple days ago and other than a brief glance at the end result, which looked fine to me, I headed home. Now that I've browsed some tech info on the intake, I noticed that I have a bunch of lines just hanging around the area right below the intake arm whereas all the other ones I've seen have absolutely nothing under there. Here are pictures to illustrate my point:

*not my car, but as one can see, the area under the intake arm is clutter free:

*mine...all the lines are just hanging out there under the intake arm:

Did the installer do something different? Anything I should be concerned about? Thanks for any help!

Your intake is fine. The person you referenced used tie wraps and placed the vacuum hose above the intake. Yours is placed below the intake. Your install is more common than the picture you referenced. The check valve is correct so you should have no problems.

Not everyones hoses look the same. If you want to tidy them up....just get some tie wraps and go to town. Just make sure not to go too tight and pinch off the hose.

Thank you for the information I was just concerned because it seemed from all the other Comptech setups I saw on this forum that the area was uncluttered. for clearing it up for me!

Your lines are also too long. They could be shortened and tucked out of the way better.

thanks for the additional tip xviper!

jal3lee: I really like it! Sounds slightly more aggressive than stock. Only thing that bugs me is that even after trimming the plastic hood prop, it's still difficult to snap the rod back into place or even to pull it out!

the only difference between yours and the ones you see is the little extra time spent doing the install nicely .

its a great intake but it vibrated the hell out of my car.
