Default Comptech Intake Rattle

For those Comptech Icebox owners out there...

I have this nasty sounding rattle coming from the intake. I am pretty sure it is because the icebox (notorious for non-exact fitment) touching the hood, causing the hood to amplify the rattling sound and vibrate at the 5K range. I have since placed a small piece of padding on the tab that rubs the Icebox, and that has help a little.

I was wondering what other solutions some of my fellow owners have come up with.

Thanks in advance!

Push down really hard on the air box to crush the AC lines insulation. Some foam tape on the hood seems to help as well.

Make sure the box is sitting all the way down, touching the two ribs of the cross member.

If not, you need to re-route the wiring harness. On the rear box mounting bracket, there's a wiring harness on top of it. Remove the mounting bracket, and move the harness below it.

Forgot about the wiring harness.

The 3 different boxes I've dealt with all fit equally bad. (1 V1, contoured top, 1 roto-molded plastic with a smooth top V2 , and a fiberglass boxed, smooth top V2)

Of all the Comptech boxes I've done, the box directly hits that harness.

If it's just the top vibrating, try this: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=337273

Thanks Brian, I'm gonna try that today. Cypher your crazy!

Ok, next question; what is the best filter to run in a Comptech?
