Default Comptech reinforced diff owners

Does it come with the outer housing? The silver colored part with the fins? That you can see from the rear of the car?

Also, while trying to put it back together a small crack was found. It's actually at the top of the diff near one of the holes the bolts go into. After putting some silicone in there and screwing in the bolt some silicone found its way onto the outside of the housing.

So, for the second, and probably dumb question, would it be okay to still use this outer housing? Seeing as it is a very tiny "crack", is on the side facing up, will be filled with silicone, and that diff oil is too thick to ever come out of it.

First, no. The CompTech part is the black carrier only.

Second, you can get the cover welded to seal it back up. but the part is not that expensive to replace either.

Ok, I can't resist. Another dumb question (I'm a cheap bastard): Will JB Weld work?
