Default comptech sc initial start-up

well i turned her on and check for leaks... had a small fuel leak at the rail but tightening it solved it... the sc makes a squeal noise at startup for a brief second.
i checked the belt and it is vibrating side to side... this obviously means its too loose right? she idle perfectly with the lovely whistling noise... no cel's of any kind i cant wait to drive it around.!!!!
that belt is making me worry though

I don't think the belt should do that. Check out the guide for how to determine the correct tension and tighten it accordingly. On the Vortech, the belt should have no more than about 45 degree twist at a midpoint between two pulleys when done with moderate strength by hand.
That noise should reduce or go away once the oil starts moving through the bearing.

With the Comptech the standard belt tension is a 90 degree twist on the belt between the blower pulley and the crank pulley. I had my belt too loose and it created all kind of operating problems.
The belt should not vibrate at all, it should be a smooth as the stock belt - Make sure you tightened the guide mount bolt - not just the tension bolt (14 mm) but the bracket mount bolt hidden underneath the blower - there are (4) bolts that mount the blower bracket to the motor and then there is the belt tension bolt.

I like to make a correction to my previous statement. The Vortech manual indicates "1/4" twist, so this equates to the same 90 degrees for the Comptech. However, how much deflection you can get depends on the strength you use and of course, this varies from person to person.
