I HIGHLY recommend that you tighten the filter with a torque wrench! Safety wire wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Also, If it is the filter that's leaking its likely due to a bad O-Ring seal on the filter, they aren't securely fastened to the filter and can be dislodged if mishandled. You might also have an O-ring from a previous filter that stuck to the base plate and ended up between the new filter and the base plate. Regardless of the cause you should replace the filter yet again and this time witness the procedure for yourself. And then, Never let anyone else but yourself change the oil and filter.

reviving a really old thread but after my mechanic using some random nissan filter during my last service I am having the same problem with the oil leak around the seal and then dripping down when I start the car. One question, is it possible to change the oil filter without completely draining all the oil from the car or do I have to drain the oil before I can change the filter.

If it is reddish oil than it could be one of your bushings. In my 01 S I had it happen and Honda changed both of them.

Just had this done, filter changed without draining the oil. There was some spillage that has burned off, and had to top off with about a half quart, but it can be done.
