Default Coolant???

Has anyone changed the coolant in their S2000 yet? If so, what did brand of coolant did you refill it with. I'm installing an engine block heater and have to drain it, otherwise i wouldn't be messing with it yet.

Stic with the Honda Type II - it's the best for the engine.

How do others feel about this?

I changed my thermostat (to a mugen) and at the same time switched to Prestone (I believe it was) with Redline's Water Wetter. I've had NO problems with overheating or any other symptoms.

Oh, yeah, I also have the Mugen radiator cap. Cool! (No matter how you read it.)

At the recommended time, I plan to flush the whole system out thoroughly and put in the long life (5 years) Dexcool. I've changed several other cars I've owned to this and it works great. No worrying about coolant for at least 5 years.

Do plan on a through flush before you swap coolants. Some mechanics still question the newer formulations and compatibility with the metallurgy and design of all systems. Here are some interesting articles..

Thanks, I'll check 'em out. I've got another year yet before I need to change coolant.
