Default coolant coolant coolant.......

I called my local honda dealer and they sell type II only and it is "blue"

I currently have a MY00 with 36k miles and green coolant..It is my understanding that the green coolant is either one of two things. Type 1..which i doubt, or 2 an aftermarket brand...

but i read on another post that honda also has a GREEN type II coolant....so could it be this?

All i need to do is add a little bit, and not a complete coolant flush right now.

ideas?

The blue coolant is the newest coolant Honda has. It is used on all Honda vehicles now and is what you should use with your car.

If all you need to do is top up I'd just use water.

NOT if he is still on the original coolant in his year 2000 car.

The green is the original type 2 coolant by Honda. It's still available if you wish to use it, otherwise the blue is the newest type 2.

So, you're saying it's OK to mix regular coolant with long life coolant? Umm.... OK.

Both of the coolants are the same, just different colors.
So YES it will be OK to use EITHER of the coolants.
