[QUOTE=haywoodjablome,Sep 15 2008, 02:04 PM] So, you're saying it's OK to mix regular coolant with long life coolant?

Coolant flush shouldn't take so long.

When i did mine, i loosed the drain plug on the radiator, but i left everything else closed. Since it was pressurized and that was the only way for the pressure to escape, it seemed like it sucked most of the coolant out. Reason being is because when it came to flushing it out, i added water to the radiator and let the car run until the fans turned on, when i drained it again the same way, there was hardly any coolant left.

from xvipers old thread

"If you have a year 2000 car, it came with "regular" coolant and should have been first changed after 3 years, then every 2 years thereafter. All subsequent years of S2000s had "Type II" Honda coolant, which was supposedly good for the first 10 year (but personally, I wouldn't leave it in there for much more than 5 years)."

To flush the coolant you need to remove the freeze plug on the side of the block to drain the water jacket. That won't drain just by draining the radiator.

Yeah, thats why you would flush the coolant. Fill the rad with water and run it for a few minutes after the fan turns on. Doing this multiple times should get rid of the coolant.
