Default Coolant Flow Question

I am trying to make an electric water pump kit for my f20c and am having a hard time trying to find a correct answer to my question. .

Which way does the Coolant flow on a stock f20 ? Does it pull from the block and feed into the radiator or does it pull from the radiator and feed into the block ?

I know the K series motors from the factory pull from the block and feed into the Radiator.

My concern is that since the coolant temp sensor for an f20 is before the head, if I pull from the block and push into the radiator then the sensor will read the water that has just been cooled by the radiator, resulting in a false temp reading.

I should add that this is not a street car and will not have a thermostat. .

I may be overthinking this haha. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

I hope you mean that you will not keep the OEM thermostat, and will use an electronic thermostat instead.

The pump will be on a manual switch as well as a relay so if it hits a pre determined temp and it is not on then it will be switched on by the Ems . .

Not too worried about that part, but thank you sir !

That's interesting, but seems like it would be a whole lot better to have an electronic thermostat. Cold coolant reduces power, and hot coolant ruins motors. Trying to control it manually seems like an unnecisary challenge.

Thanks for your interest.

For a street car , yes it may seem like an unnecessary task however my car is a drag car only.
I plan on hitting the switch on as soon as the engine fires , every time. The failsafe is there for any reason I forgot to do so. I'm not worrying about it coming up to operating temp because it will do so very quickly. .

It is a naturally aspirated f20c in FWD trim. Big bore, big stroke, big compression leads to higher than desired coolant temps. So this year I have gutted the stock water pump housing, welded AN fittings with steel braided hoses throughout.

Now I am trying to decide which way to mount the electric water pump and cant figure out which way i want to push the water through the motor, hence my original question lol !
