Default Coolant Hose Clamp Location - General Question

I sprung a coolant leak from one of the smaller hoses that run under between the intake manifold and the throttle body. I just replaced the hoses with new ones and with new Honda clamps rather than mess with them at 11 years of age.

The metal tubes where the coolant hoses slide over tend to have a raised hump/ring at the very end of the pipes, and the hoses slide over the humps and continue past for maybe 1/2 inch further where they tend to terminate at another raised hump/ring in the pipe. My question is if it matters where you affix the clamp within that 1/2 inch distance between the raised portions of the metal pipe?. Is it best to located the clamp just inside the raised portion at the end of the metal tube, or in the middle of the two raised portions ?. I noticed in the shop manual that some hose clamps go in the middle of fuel lines, so I was wondering if coolant lines have the clamp locations that are different. My inclination is to put the clamp up against the raised portion of the outer end of the pipe. I'd appreciate any opinions/replies on this. Thanks for reading.

Just be sure the clamp is not over the bump at all. The clamp should be clamping 100% of level surface. In other words make sure part of the clamp is not over the bump area.

Okay thanks Billman250, yeah definitely my clamps are past the bump and clamping on level surface, I guess that's what is most important, thanks for the reply.

Had something simular 2 years back, it was a main hose running from the thermostat.
Repalced the hose and also bought a new clamp, for just-in-case.
When I had the old clamp and new one next to eachother I could not see the difference anymore.
Tried with a pair of pliers to see if I could feel a difference in clamping = no.
So I don't know if I'm now using the old one or the new one.
What I do know is that there is no leak and that I wasted some Euro's on a part.

What I noticed was some green/gray-ish gell-like coating under the hose on the alumium, as far as I remember that stuff made it leak.
It wasn't easy to remove, I could not just wipe it off.
I ended up using sandpaper & wire brush to remove it.
