Default Coolant shooting out of my..

A seal on my buddy club radiator cap went missing so I changed it out for an autozone cap with some kind of release lever on it. It looks like

Now coolant shoots out of my autozone radiator cap just after a few 1st to 3rd gear pulls.

I checked for leaks in the hoses and also checked if the radiator held pressure fine, which it did.

Has anyone had any experience with this cap before?

I want this fixed before my track day..

you either bought the wrong one, bought a bad one, or installed it wrong.

Also check the gasket seat on the radiator neck and insure it has no baked on gasket residue. If it does the new gasket won't seal. Otherwise like mentioned above ,you got a defective cap or the wrong size.

Oh, btw that "leve-R-pull" type cap works just fine. I didn't know they made it in s2000 radiator sizes, but it worked great for my other cars.

if it started leaking after you changed your radiator cap, the cap is most likely the problem.

maybe you picked up a wrong psi rad. cap. you might have decreased your coolants boiling point.

Probable - Wrong / broken cap

Un-likely - Does your oil look funky, a watery whitish mixture?

The only time I ever had radiator shooting out water is when I blew my headgasket in a d15 motor. Just FYI that red tab is a pressure release valve, they do that to "assists" the removal of the cap after driving. Be careful either way.
