Snap on 1/2' mother of all impacts. It rivals most air impact wrenches.

I have one of the newer Makitas and would buy it again if it broke.

Whatever you do get one with Lithium-Ion batteries
I love my Makita. I have the 18V 3AH and I just swapped all 4 wheels yesterday on one battery. I would highly recommend getting one.

Mark,

I picked up an $80 cordless impact at Pep Boys at the start of last season (I believe the brand is GreatNeck), and it has been great so far. It breaks the lugs free with ease, and I've changed tires several times over 2 weekends and still had juice left. Plus, you can't beat the price

I've had the same 18.8v makita for over two years. I use it everyday as a dealership tech. The snap on is an amazing gun but I do not think the price is justafiable for track only use.

Bosch makes a really good impact for around $350. I used one for tens of thousands of bolts building a refinery. It never missed a lick, and withstood a couple of nasty spills. I have their small 10v impact too. That thing is a monster for its size.

Does any one with actual mechanical / s2000 experience recommended the snap on?

+1 on the Snap On cordless impacts.. I have both 1/2" drive and 3/8" drive and use them daily.

Yeah HILTI is good quality stuff... those are the only products my dad uses in all of his construction sites! I don't know about any of their cordless impacts but I have a few drill machines and they make a really good product...
