Does any one with actual mechanical / s2000 experience recommended the snap on?
a full charge from dead takes less than an hour.

Another option is to take your batteries to Batteries Plus to get them rebuilt.
I am currently in Afghanistan and i am a heavy equipment mechanic. I use the hell out of my cheap little RYOBE from home depot and it is awesome but a little short on power of course.
Li IO batteries are far superior to Ni-Cad or Nickle metal Hydride.

To complete this thread, I bought a Sears 200ft.-lb. cordless impact. The price for the tool, two batteries, a charger, and a case was about the same as the price for two batteries for the Milwaukee ($169). It breaks lug nuts loose with ease, spins very fast, and is quiet.
Time will tell how long it and its batteries last.

Been a Nissan tech for nearly 5 years. Own both the 1/2" and 3/8" Snap-On cordless and they're great. I wouldn't even bother with another unless you plan on using it a few times a year. If it's a tool you're going to use all the time, might as well spend the money the first time.

4 year thread bump for some new info on the technology.
looking for mainly lug nuts and suspension pieces and primary use, not often, but I am at he point in my life where I dont want to buy stuff twice cuz i tried to save a buck once.

My Snap-On is now the weak gun compared to this gun.
The IR gun is strong enough to remove the axle nuts. No lug nut stands a chance
Care must be used when tightening, as it is strong enough to snap a stud right off.
