While casually driving home from work, I killed it at a stop light. Feeling like an idiot, I take off as to not hold up traffic. In first gear I punch it, the rpms climb fast, vtec kicks in and around 7k it feels like a parachute deployed while my rev limiter simultaniously kicked in. The limiter didn't actually kick in, but my head was thrown forward a bit and my rpms also dropped respectively with the drop in speed. Startled, I quickly push in the clutch and shift into second.

At that time is when I noticed my clutch felt different. I lost a lot of pressure in my clutch pedal. If I was pushing X hard, I was now only pushing 1/2X. I drove home, checked my fluid and checked for any leaks. Everything was fine. Upon driving again, I tried to let the clutch out very gently at near stalling RPMs, the clutch worked fine. I tried slipping it out at 4k RPMs, it worked just fine. I tried dumping it and the tires lost grip, worked fine.

So now I'm confused. There is no deterioration in clutch performance, but the force required to press the clutch pedal has been roughly cut in half. Any ideas?

I am about 2 weeks ahead of you though and my problem keeps getting worse. I have bled the line twice & replaced the slave cylinder. It helps briefly, but the original clutch feel has not be restored. I'm at the point today where I can't drive the car any more and I think the clutch is shot...
