A couple of brake questions?
Thanks again for the excellent info here, everyone!
Last night RT and I installed my mess o' brake goodies, and it went very smoothly. RT, thanks again for all your help!
Before I forget, here are some details:
The Goodridge lines were a perfect fit, and come with everything necessary (although we reused the stock banjo bolts; the ones with the kit were much smaller).
One liter of brake fluid is plenty.
The Porterfield R4-S pads did need some file work to fit correctly. We didn't add any hi-temp grease, as the shims still had some on them. The wear indicators are on the stock pads, not the shims, so I no longer have wear indicators.
It took two rounds of bleeding to get the pedal feeling firm, although it's still got a little initial softness. I'll probably have to bleed it one more time. The SpeedBleeders are nice. It is possible to bleed all four corners without taking any wheels off, but you have to go by feel to find the bleeders.
So, in conclusion
WOW! Major improvement! My S2000 really stops well now! I'm sure some of the benefit would have come from just bleeding the lines, but the R4-S pads seem much better than the stock ones, so far. I'll post another update after the track day on Saturday.
Thanks again, everyone, especially RT!
