Default crack in air intake hose

I recently opened up my hood on sunday and found a crack in the air intake hose
I'm wondering how could this happen?
I have a picture here not sure if you can see it but this is the best I could get.

that's all you can do. It is odd on a 2007 to have a crack, my ap1 hose is still pretty pliable.

Just put some duct tape around it until you replace it.
