Anyone know if the 2006 onwards crank sensor is the same as the earlier ones ? Any info gratefully received

 

if i remember right, the later AP2s have hall effect crank sensors and earlier models had inductive pickup style sensors.

answer: no. not the same.

 

00-05 cars use different crank and cam sensors and wheels than 06-09 cars

 

Yes , the later car do have the digital type sensors instead of the inductive ones but the problem is I dont know if they are still a 12 tooth trigger wheel ? The earlier ones are 12+1 from the cam sensor but we think the later ones are different but we dont know how different ?

Any ideas ?

 

The wheels are different, couldn't tell you exactly how different.
