Default creaking in the dash area?

so i just picked up an S with 36k miles...01

whenever the car is like warmed up, or after driving it for awhile and you let it idle...there is this mild, not too loud- constant creaking sound. imagine if you were in an old house, in a basement..and someone upstairs steps on a loose wood and it creaks..now imagine it in a very low noise(so low that you can only hear it when you turn off the radio) and it is doing it at a constant sound.

it also seems like it might be something near the engine that is slightly hitting on something near the dash area or something in the dash area is loose...because the constant hitting is also still there...even when you rev the engine. you'd have to listen very closely to hear the constant noise still clicking, while you rev.
SO..is there anything like beneath the dash or around it, that is constantly running, but is not the motor?

if you rev yours just a tiny bit does it go away? i was thnking about raising the idle a little bit to get rid of it...but i havnt even popped the hood yet to try and find it
