Cross-threaded Spark Plug
I was changing spark plugs on my s2k recently and found one of the spark plug was installed incorrectly causing cross-thread in where spark plug goes in........what's the best way to fix this problem? rethread? helacoil? or do I need to change the whole head? please HELP~~~!!

A new head is the only sure-fire solution. I'm not sure if I'd trust a heli-coil.
get a spark plug chaser, if you don't know what that is, go to a parts store and ask an older worker/parts guy there and they will help you.
This was/is a common problem with aluminum heads and people who man handle a socket wrench.
Remember This is something we did on old Chevys I would say that xviper would know more of how tolerant the F-20C is to do it this way "old school" good luck
Use the chase to cleanup the threads and at your own risk turn the car over a few times with the plug removed and other coil packs removed as well. This is to blow out any metal in the cylinder. It is what we did on big block Vettes and Cameros back in the day that had aluminum heads with improperly installed plugs.
I never had any go wrong
Search on posts for "Time Serts".
I posted details a long time ago on a technique that uses shaving cream in the cylinder to prevent swarf falling into the cylinder when installing a timesert. The timesert is a solid collar with threads on inside/outside that is expanded to repair the thread. The kit comes with the tooling to install it.
Good luck
Chris.

Thanks for all the replies~
Right now, I was able to install that spark plug in (it doesn't go all the way in but fortunately, it fit in tight and seems like there's no power loss or missfire) and runs great as before. But I guess I'll find someone with long experience with car who can fix that thread for me. I think I'll go for the chaser to fix the thread first and if it doesn't go well, I'll try timesert. AND if that doesn't work neither, I guess I'll just get a new head.......ah~~ expensive way~~~
anyone with used FC20 engine head~?

I have the head with all the valves and vale springs. It doesnt have the rocker arms and cams. It has a timing chain.
Anyone out there knows why it isnt turning over? IT tries to. But fails.
