Default Curious which oil filter this is.

I assumed it was the Honda filter when I bought the car. In the process of my first oil change I noticed it was different than the PCX-004 I bought. In fact, I can't even find any kind of identification on this filter.

It's on the right. Just says "OIL FILTER" basically. Good, bad, indifferent? By the way, I went in at the drain plug from the top since I had a relatively clear shot. Seemed to work.

The car also took 5.5 quarts, more than the manual indicated.

I found my owner's manual... in the OTHER secret compartment. I've known about the upper secret compartment for years. I never knew until last weekend that S2000s have pockets in the backs of the seats! Found some other nifty stuff in there too.

In the picture the filter on the right looks to have 2 Honda part#'s on it. 15400-PLM-??? and 15400-PLC-???. If it's aftermarket then maybe those are the part#'s for the OEM filters it's intended to be used in place of. I'm pretty sure that filter on the right should have never been used on an S2000.

That could be one of two filters. Honda US filter made by fram part # 15400-PLM-A02 or Honda US filter made by filtech part # 15400-PLM-A01. Both of them have poor construction and are not recommended for use on your S2000. Don't use it.

Hey Brian nice to see you still discovering new stuff in the S, but i don't have the extra pockets behind my seats! and yes the filter on the right is a no no for the s2000.

BTW. Maybe Honda thought those filters sucked too because at least one of those parts is made by Honeywell now. I can't remember which one A01 or A02, whichever one superseeds the other.

Only one oil filter for the S2000. The one on the left in the pic above. I think it's 15400-PCX-004.

Pretty sure the PCX oil filter superseeds all others (USDM at least). Anyway, let me know if there is another currently specified oil filter for the S2000. Not trying to argue, would really like to know if there is. Unless it's very recent, like maybe this month, I really don't think so.

Just as long as you guys don't touch any oil filter with an orange casing it's all good.
