I believe HAMP makes a US 'honda' filter that is recommended.

 

when you say the car took 5.5 qts of oil, more then the manual says, how did you come to that conclusion. what does the manual say to put in??

 

other people have reported they can fit 5.5-5.6qt before passing the H mark. I just hope you are checking the level when the oil is hot.. I typically leave the level 1-2 Xs from the H when I check the oil cold after a fill to make sure I'm always with in the tolerance.
