Default Cylindar Head off, so what else

So ima be taking my cylindar head off, to hopefull fix a valve, what else would u suggest in performance wise while its off to do..

Check your retainers for cracks and possibly upgrade to the AP2 retainers and keepers (you have to do both)...

It's not a performance mod, just for peace of mind.

Honda didn't leave much power on the table in the head. Several folks have done port & polish and ended up with less power and worse bench flow. Only a couple shops have discovered some technics that improve power...but you will wait many months if not more than a year to get the head back due to the demand.

A Hondata IMG is a good mod. Again, doesn't add hp, but can reduce heat soak so you keep the hp your motor has for longer.

As negcamber said I would do the hondata IMG. I did this when I took my head off was not any extra work. Check your retainers for cracks. Mine were all fine so I left them. If you plan on going FI you might want to consider a thicker hg otherwise just go with a new stock one. You have to take the header off to remove the head so might want to get one if you do not already have one whiel your at it.

I was thinking a spoon hg, i know its like 2 more hp... but its still 2 i didn't have...
Are those hg prone to any failure.
